What is anybrief?

anybrief is an AI-powered brief management platform built for creative and design agencies. It turns client emails, meeting notes, and rough summaries into complete, structured creative briefs in minutes, using deliverable-specific checklists curated by creative directors. Your account managers stay in control of every detail, and finished briefs can be shared with clients or creatives through a single link.

Why was anybrief made?

Coming from an agency background, we know how painful it is to get a brief right. Designers and developers are constantly reviewing briefs and asking “we need this information before we can estimate” or “why didn't you ask about that?”. That creates confusion and a huge time strain on the business, and we all know time equals money. anybrief was made by agencies, for agencies, to solve that exact problem: it speeds up brief creation and gives you a workflow that drives consistency and results. Every deliverable includes a checklist creatives can mark off to confirm they've followed the guidance, alongside all the resources they need to get the job done right the first time.

We already have a brief template. Why would we switch?

Most agencies rely on a single Word doc or Google Form for every project, whether it's a logo, a website, or an ad campaign. anybrief gives you deliverable-specific question sets curated by creative directors, so you capture the right details for each job type. Less back-and-forth, fewer revision rounds, and briefs your designers actually want to read.

What does the process look like?

It's a simple four-step workflow: create your client, create your brief, review and publish, then share. Drop client emails or meeting notes into Magic Brief and it fleshes out the deliverables and checklists for you, so you're refining rather than typing from scratch.

What types of creative brief can anybrief create?

anybrief creates creative briefs for 29 deliverable types across branding, web design, development, graphic design, print, video and copywriting, plus a general option for anything else. That covers a logo design brief, a web design brief, brand guidelines, HTML emails, social graphics, brochures, explainer videos and more. Each type has its own set of questions, so a logo brief asks different things to a website brief.

Do I have to re-enter client info for every brief?

Not at all. Set up a client profile once (brand guidelines, target audience, tone of voice, key contacts) and it automatically pulls into every new brief for that client. You can even generate a profile from just a website URL.

Can I upload a client brief or other documents for the AI to work from?

Yes. When you start a brief in anybrief you can attach the brief from your client, or any other supporting document, alongside your summary. PDFs and images (PNG, JPEG or WebP) are supported, up to 10 files at 10 MB each and 20 MB in total. Magic Brief reads them and pulls out the details that shape the work, such as scope, audience and constraints.

How does the AI actually help?

Magic Brief turns messy inputs (client emails, meeting notes, a quick voice memo) into structured briefs in minutes. It extracts deliverables, deadlines, and requirements, then pre-fills technical specs. Think of it as a first draft that your AMs can refine, not a robot replacing their judgement.

Can I edit a brief after the creative brief generator has written it?

Yes. Magic Brief, anybrief's creative brief generator, gives you a first draft that you fully control. You can edit any field by hand, or ask Magic Assistant to make changes across the whole brief for you. Nothing is shared until you publish it.

What happens when a creative brief has several of the same deliverable?

anybrief plans each piece of work separately. If a client asks for four LinkedIn carousels, each with its own audience and message, Magic Brief creates four deliverables in the creative brief instead of merging them into one. If the request is simply a number, such as six Instagram posts, it keeps them together as one set.

Can I share briefs with clients or freelancers?

Yes. Generate a shareable link in one click. No login required for viewers. Great for client sign-off, onboarding freelancers, or keeping external stakeholders in the loop without giving them full platform access.

What is a deliverable checklist in a design brief?

Every deliverable in an anybrief design brief comes with a checklist of requirements for that type of work. Creatives tick items off as they go, so they can confirm they have followed the guidance before handing work back. It cuts down on missed details and avoidable revision rounds.

How do I find an old client brief?

Every client brief lives in one searchable hub in anybrief. You can search by project or client name, filter to your own briefs or by label, and sort by date, name or job number. Labels let you organise briefs your own way.

Can I control what each person in my creative agency can do with a brief?

Yes. anybrief has five roles: viewer, commenter, editor, admin and owner. Viewers can read briefs, editors can create and publish them, and admins can also manage clients and team members. Owners control organisation settings.

Can I limit a team member to certain clients?

Yes. In anybrief you can give a team member access to every client, or restrict them to specific ones. A restricted member only sees the briefs and client profiles they have been granted.

Is our client data used to train AI models?

No. The AI providers anybrief uses do not train their models on the content we send them. Client contact details are never sent to AI providers at all. Our privacy policy lists exactly what is shared and with whom.

Where is our data stored?

anybrief's application, database and file storage are hosted in the United Kingdom, in London. Some supporting services, such as analytics and error monitoring, run in the EU. The full list of providers and locations is in our privacy policy.

What happens to the documents I upload?

Reference documents you attach to a brief in anybrief are only kept long enough to generate it. They are deleted straight after generation, and within 24 hours at the latest. The brief keeps the details the AI extracted, not the files themselves.

How do I get access?

Does anybrief have an API?

Yes. anybrief has a public REST API for briefs, clients and labels, so you can connect it to the other tools your agency uses. Access is through API keys you create in your settings, and the API documentation is published on our site.
